I was working on project for an e-commerce plateforme and was testing different framework, since I am quit comfortable with Django, most of my choices will be a Django based solution, so i found about Django-Oscar, witch is a good add-on for the Django project. Django-oscar is quite the hustle to setup, as I was testing it I got an error about the Jpeg support for the PIL/Pillow library. so here is how I resolved this:
NB: I am using Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite.
PIL is missing libjpeg library.
- Go to : http://www.ijg.org/files/jpegsrc.v8c.tar.gz
- Unpack this package and cd to the unpacked folder cd ~/Downloads/jpeg-8c
- Compile it:
- Then install:
1sudo make install
without sudo if in virtualenv !
- Now you need to uninstall PIL/Pillow and reinstall it
- Uninstall PIL, if you instlled it with pip, just type
1sudo pip uninstall pil
- install PIL:
1sudo pip install pil
- Enjoy !
